SOUTH LOS ANGELES : Development Plan Meeting Scheduled
Community members can attend a public meeting Tuesday to discuss a proposal to redevelop commercial and industrial corridors south of the Santa Monica Freeway.
A community advisory committee is expected to vote to accept or reject the proposal drawn up by the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency for an area bounded by the Santa Monica Freeway, Alameda Street, Normandie Avenue and 82nd Street.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church, 5200 S. Central Ave. If the proposal, which includes tax breaks and other development incentives, is approved by the 28-member advisory panel, it goes to the board of CRA commissioners and the City Council for approval.
