SANTA ANA : Famalaro’s Brother Settles Assault Suit
The elder brother of murder suspect John J. Famalaro has reached a settlement with a 25-year-old man who alleged in a civil lawsuit that the ex-Orange County chiropractor sexually assaulted him 16 years ago.
Terms of the settlement between Warren J. Famalaro and Gregory J. Lambert were made confidential under the out-of-court agreement reached this month, said Ronald E. Norman, a Newport Beach lawyer representing Lambert.
The man filed suit against Famalaro two years ago in Orange County Superior Court, but a judge dismissed that action because a deadline had passed for pressing the allegations.
A recent change in the statute of limitations, however, allowed Lambert to revive his lawsuit, which was refiled in June, Norman said.
Warren Famalaro lost his chiropractor’s license after he was convicted in 1980 of sexually assaulting two patients: Lambert, who was 10 at the time, and a 17-year-old girl.
Brother John J. Famalaro is accused of killing Denise Huber, a 23-year-old Newport Beach woman who disappeared four years ago, and storing her body in a freezer. He is being held without bail in Orange County Jail as he awaits trial.
