VENTURA : Parents Encouraged to Enroll New Pupils
Registration of new pupils in the Ventura Unified School District is under way, school officials said Monday.
With school scheduled to start Sept. 5, parents of kindergartners and other new students are urged to enroll them at their local schools, said Arlene Miro, director of administrative services.
A birth certificate and evidence of immunization for diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus (DPT), polio, measles, rubella and mumps are required for entry. A physical examination is also required for all pupils entering kindergarten, Miro said.
Packets containing information about emergency procedures, qualification for free and reduced price lunches and the school calendar will be sent home with all students on the first day of school, she said.
