12-Year-Old Boy on Sidewalk Shot in Head From Passing Car
A 12-year-old boy was shot in the head Friday in South Los Angeles and was in extremely critical condition at a nearby hospital, Los Angeles police said.
The shooting occurred about 5:30 p.m. at 92nd and Figueroa streets, said Sgt. Steven Johnson of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Station.
The boy was taken to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, Johnson said. No suspects were in custody.
A neighbor said: “A car just drove by as [the boy] was standing on the sidewalk on the corner and started shooting.
“I imagine it must have stemmed from some gang beef,” the man said.
