Better Mousetraps: Inventors hoping that the world will beat a path to their door can be found this weekend at the ninth annual Invention Convention in Pasadena. More than 400 exhibitors, including more than 100 from Taiwan, China and South Korea, will showcase their new products and network with investors and other inventors. Success stories from last year’s convention include Randy Cooper, a former engineer who devised a water sprinkler that may soon be marketed in Sears department stores, and John Gutch, who received an order for 2,000 of his pop-open blankets from the owner of the Sharper Image stores. The convention runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through Monday at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green St. Admission is $10 daily for adults, $5 for seniors and children under 12.
