Quaker Oats Co.’s Gatorade unit is recalling some 16-ounce bottles of its Gatorade Thirst Quencher after consumers complained of finding glass fragments.
The company said the cause of the problem has been identified and corrected. There have been no reports of serious injury, California State Health Director Kim Belshe said.
Gatorade has advised brokers, warehouses, distributors and retailers to retrieve the recalled products as soon as possible, Belshe said. Consumers who have purchased the products in question are advised not to drink them.
The following flavors and bottle codes are being recalled (each code is followed by the letter A, B, C, D, F or H): 019D5 in lemon ice, grape or tropical fruit; 020D5 in fruit punch, citrus cooler or lemon-lime; 021D5 in lemon-lime; 004E5 in tropical fruit, and 005E5 in fruit punch or orange.
