OUTLOOK
After winning the league title last year with the county’s rushing leader, Brendan McGraw (2,511 yards, county-record 42 touchdowns), the Hawks will start a dozen sophomores. The good news is Laguna Hills’ freshmen went 10-0. Bresnahan has high praise for Jones, who could become the best linebacker in school history, and Jones: “We’d like to think Jones will step right in and perform similarly to [McGraw]; he has the ability to be the best we’ve ever had here, but it depends on if it’s this year or he’s going to take his time. . . . Unless I’m really off base, we’ll develop into a pretty good team, but it might not be in the first game.” Another strength: this group has great chemistry.
