WESTLAKE : $1.7-Million Stadium Will Open Today
The Westlake Warriors will get a change of scenery today, as the football season opens at the school’s new $1.7-million stadium.
Today’s contests will begin at 2 p.m. when the freshman team takes on the Buena Bulldogs, followed by the sophomores at 4:30 and the varsity at 7:30.
The opening of the stadium, which seats more than 4,000, will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. with festivities that include paratroopers and a color guard.
Until now, the Warriors have played most of their home games at Thousand Oaks High School.
Tickets for today’s games are $5 for adults and $3 for children 11 and younger. Westlake High students with ID and senior citizens get in free.
