Nordstrom to Offer Mammograms: If a breast cancer screening is on your to-do list, department store retailer Nordstrom Inc. is making it easier to get tested. Nordstrom is opening what is believed to be the first mammography center inside a department store next month. The clinic will be run by the radiology department of a Chicago-area hospital and occupy a 400-square-foot space that is now a beauty salon at Nordstrom’s Skokie, Ill., store. “Our largest customer base is made up of women,” said Carol Gasper, spokeswoman for Seattle-based Nordstrom. “If it’s successful, we’ll be open” to launching more. The X-rays will be read by a team of radiologists who then turn results over to the patient’s doctor.
