Help for SIDS

In reference to “Researchers Find Key Clue to SIDS as Killer of Babies,” Sept. 8:

The section on reducing the risk states, “Things parents should know and do to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.” By including the word “prevent,” you have given new and future parents a false sense of security. As stated in the article itself, there is still no way to predict or prevent SIDS. Please understand how one simple word can change the meaning of an entire statement.
