Another Ventura bank was held up Wednesday, marking the 30th bank robbery in Ventura County this year.

The FBI said Wednesday’s robbery at the Bank of America branch at 2698 E. Main St. may be related to a robbery last week at a Home Savings branch in Ventura. No one was injured in either robbery.

According to the FBI, just before 5 p.m. the robber handed a teller a note that said, “This is a bank robbery,” but the robber did not appear to be carrying a weapon. The robber, described as a well-groomed, white male with an olive complexion, fled on foot after the teller handed him a bag containing an undisclosed sum of money.

The Ventura Police Department said the money bag apparently had a dye-pack, an ink device that explodes and stains the money.

The FBI said the robber is believed to be between 25 and 28 years old, about 6 feet tall, with brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a long-sleeved denim shirt.
