THOUSAND OAKS : Residents to Ask City to Install Speed Bumps
A group of neighbors today will ask the Thousand Oaks City Council to install speed humps on Paige Lane and Wilbur Court between Combes Avenue and Hodencamp Road.
Residents of those two streets said motorists use the roads as shortcuts to California 23. The roads have become dangerous for residents because many motorists ignore the posted 25 m.p.h. speed limit.
Earlier in the year, city officials balked at installing speed bumps and instead recommended stepped-up police enforcement. In the meantime, the issue was sent to a traffic committee for review.
But the residents, who submitted a petition that showed an overwhelming majority want speed humps, elected not to wait for the committee’s report and instead will ask the City Council to intervene.
The Thousand Oaks City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. in the Civic Arts Plaza.
