Designs Sought for Science Fair Poster
Ventura County students in grades six through 12 have until Oct. 20 to enter a poster contest for the 1996 Ventura County Science Fair, officials said Monday.
The winning artwork will be printed and used throughout the county as the fair’s official poster, said Dennis Lang, science fair chairman.
Entries will be judged on originality and portrayal of this year’s theme, “The Amazing Wonders of Science,” Lang said. The theme need not be the title of the poster or stated on the design.
Full-time students in public, private or home schools are invited to enter, Lang said. Artwork should be in one color only and drawn on a 13-by-17-inch white poster board, he said.
The Science Fair will take place April 23-25 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. There are eight categories: botany; chemistry or biochemistry; Earth, space or environment; math or computers; microbiology or medical science; physics; psychology or sociology, and zoology or animal behavior.
All entries must arrive no later than Oct. 20 at the Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Office, 570 Airport Way, Camarillo. For more information, call 388-4414.
