SIMI VALLEY : Park District’s Charity Golf Tourney Friday
If you’re out of your element on the golf course, the Simi Valley Recreation and Park District has the fund-raiser tournament to try, district officials say.
The Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise money for the district’s alternative recreation program and Special Olympic teams is scheduled for noon Friday at Simi Hills Golf Course.
Fees are $75 for a single person and $275 for a foursome, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and T-shirt. Participants play in foursomes, with each player shooting successive shots from the best lie of the four players.
“The best-ball, Texas scramble format guarantees fun and success to all golfers--hackers to professionals,” said Sharon Sea Hamilton, volunteer coordinator for the district.
Today is the last day to sign up, Hamilton said.
Participation is strong, Hamilton said, “but I would love another foursome.”
For more information, call Hamilton at 584-4400.
