Pierce Plans Benefit Farm Walk
Pierce College will hold a fall farm walk Sunday to raise money for the school’s agricultural program.
Walkers can tour the farm and see the various animals, including cows, sheep, horses, pigs and llamas, as well as the newly painted sheep barn, which was done through volunteer labor by students from Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth and from Pierce College.
The walks are held four times a year to allow the community to enjoy the farm and “become familiar with our efforts to preserve the farm,” acting President Mary Lee said.
The walk will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants should enter the campus through the Mason Avenue entrance. Adults are asked to give a $2 donation while children 12 and younger will be admitted free.
Individuals can sponsor the walk for a $50 tax-deductible donation, for which they will receive a free T-shirt. For information call the Foundation for Pierce College at (818) 703-0826.
