Some News to Chase Away the Blues
We appreciate your balanced human perspective in reporting, particularly in the Sept. 18 front-page article regarding the Angels’ turning to prayer (“God Gets His Innings at Baseball Chapel”) and the lawyer turned inner-city teacher (“From Boardroom to Classroom”). Often, papers sensationalize gruesome events without the balance of the hopeful and good news being covered at all.
If there are issues we should be dealing with in our communities--such as crime, abuse, economic distress--surely we should not be ignorant to the need.
However, magnifying only horror and fear will not heal our communities.
Thank you for including this balance.
