License Plate Protocol
In Europe, all cars crossing borders must display a tag showing the country in which the car is registered. Some of them are obvious--some are not. Here’s a sampling:
AL: Albania
A: Austria
AND: Andorra
B: Belgium
BG: Bulgaria
CH: Switzerland
D: Germany
DK: Denmark
E: Spain
ET: Egypt
F: France
FL: Liechtenstein
GB: Great Britain
GBZ: Gibraltar
I: Italy
IRL: Ireland
MC: Monaco
N: Norway
NL: The Netherlands
P: Portugal
PL: Poland
R: Romania
S: Sweden
TR: Turkey
USA: United States
