LA PALMA : City to Close Streets for Nov. 13 Parade
The City Council has approved a street-closure plan for the annual La Palma Days Parade on Nov. 13.
The parade traditionally is the highlight of La Palma Days, a weekend celebration that features a variety of community activities.
A new feature of La Palma Days this year will be an outdoor hospital bed race conducted by the La Palma Intercommunity Hospital Foundation. Money from the event will go to the hospital. Teams, sponsored by corporate donors, will race real hospital beds and fake “patients” on a section of Walker Street.
Streets that will be closed or partially restricted include Walker Street, Fresca Lane, Marlin Circle, Bransford Drive, Conifer Drive, Oak Drive, Houston Avenue, Dallas Drive, Kevin Lane, Paraguay Drive, Marview Drive, Thelma Avenue, Byrne Drive, Bouma Circle, Pineridge Drive, La Luna Drive and Los Palos Circle.
