TUSTIN : ‘Dinosaur Dash’ to Benefit Schools
The Tustin Public Schools Foundation’s fifth annual “Dinosaur Dash,” a fund-raising run to benefit schools, will be Nov. 12 at the Tustin Market Place.
The event, which raised more than $100,000 for Tustin public schools last year, will feature 10K and 5K runs--including wheelchair divisions--a 2K walk, and, in keeping with the day’s theme, a dinosaur costume contest.
Major corporate sponsors this year are Tustin Lexus, Chick’s Sporting Goods, McDonald’s and the Irvine Co., which has agreed to match grants from local businesses and individuals to benefit science and technology at the schools, officials said.
Last year, the one-day event drew more than 5,000 participants, volunteers and spectators, according to organizers.
The deadline for team registration is Nov. 3, but individuals can register until the day of the run.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Tustin Market Place, at El Camino Real and Jamboree Road.
