Central Los Angeles : Post Office Closed for Asbestos Removal
A post office branch in Boyle Heights has been closed until early next week for removal of asbestos found during roof repairs.
Contractors started work at Boyle Station on Thursday and by Friday the asbestos had been removed, said Pam Boxley, manager of administrative services for the Los Angeles district.
Until the station at 2016 East 1st St. reopens, its mail is being processed at the Alameda Station at 760 N. Main St.
