UCI Women’s Soccer Team Wins in Overtime

IRVINE —  UC Irvine got goals from freshman reserves Dena Lundy and Lily Chowana-Bandhu to beat Pacific, 2-1, in overtime in the UCI/Hyatt women’s soccer Invitational Friday.

Chowana-Bandhu scored five minutes 22 seconds into overtime to put 15th-ranked UC Irvine ahead, 2-1. It was the eighth consecutive victory for the Anteaters (9-0-2). Lundy’s goal came about 17 minutes into the second half and tied it, 1-1.

UC Irvine plays 10th-ranked Hartford Sunday at 1 p.m. Hartford was upset by University of San Diego, 2-0, in another game Friday.

Pacific plays San Diego at 11 a.m. Sunday.
