SANTA ANA : Man Gunned Down by Bicyclist Is Identified
A man killed in a drive-by shooting was identified as Ruben Hector Rodriguez, 21, of Santa Ana, police said Wednesday.
Rodriguez was standing in the 2600 block of West Lincoln Lane Tuesday evening with a friend when two bicyclists approached them and one man pulled out a gun, Sgt. Bob Clark said.
One assailant shot two rounds, hitting Rodriguez at least once in the head. The two attackers then fled east on Lincoln.
Rodriguez was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana where he later died. His friend was uninjured.
Clark said there is no indication that Rodriguez was affiliated with a gang, but that the shooting appeared to be gang-related. Police are continuing to investigate the killing.
