The Oct. 31 Halloween concert by David Bowie at the Hollywood Palladium--without Nine Inch Nails--is on sale today. . . . In a different holiday mood, Joe Diffie, Toby Keith and John Berry will be featured in “California Country Christmas,” Dec. 3 at the Universal Amphitheatre. Tickets go on sale Sunday. . . . On sale now is Rusted Root and Joan Osborne, Nov. 18 at the Palace. . . . The addition of the Gin Blossoms and the Meat Puppets to the lineup of R.E.M.’s Nov. 3 show at the Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion has moved the concert’s start time up half an hour to 7 p.m. Luscious Jackson is also on the bill. (An incorrect date for the show is in an item in Sunday’s Pop Eye column.) . . . Other new shows on sale now: the Dickies at Whisky on Nov. 10, Tripping Daisy at the Palace on Nov. 16, Mercury Rev at the Whisky Nov. 15, the Legendary Pink Dots at the Roxy on Nov. 17, Voodoo Glow Skulls at the Whisky on Nov. 18 and 19 and Jawbreaker with That Dog and Fluf at the Palace on Nov. 22.
