Valleywide : Public Hearing Set on Permits, Variances
A city zoning administrator will hold a public hearing Nov. 3 on a number of applications for city permits and zoning variances. The hearing will be at the Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave. in Sherman Oaks. The applications include requests for:
* A zoning variance to permit the construction and operation of a pool hall inside a shopping center on Parthenia Street and Corbin Avenue. The Northridge location is within 300 feet of homes. The pool hall would offer 16 pool tables, four video games and a dartboard area, and would be open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m.
* A conditional-use permit to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages by a proposed Food 4 Less supermarket on Webb Avenue near Lankershim Boulevard and Strathern Street in Sun Valley. Alcohol sales would be allowed between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m. daily. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m.
* A conditional-use permit to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages at a proposed restaurant and sports bar on Raymer Street just west of Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys. The restaurant would have four pool tables and six video arcade games, and would be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. The hearing will begin at 10:30 a.m.
