Tony Trueba
Huntington Beach, Junior
Cross-country
Huntington Beach’s invitational winning streak remained intact Saturday at the Orange County Championships, thanks again in large part to Trueba. He had won the Division II race in the Central Park Invitational and the Division III race in the Woodbridge race, but Saturday beat the best the county had to offer, finishing the three-mile course at Irvine Park in 15 minutes 12 seconds. Trueba beat second-place Nick Russell of Orange by eight seconds. Jess Strutzel, who was fourth, and Trueba led the Oilers to a nine-point victory over Santa Ana.
