The Fish Are Biting but Bear Is Hovering
Anglers have until next Tuesday to fish the Eastern Sierra, and they may be interested to know that one of the better bites is taking place at Virginia Lakes, high above Bridgeport.
But there’s a catch.
“They’re catching lots of browns, brooks and rainbows,” said Rick Rockel at Ken’s Sporting Goods. “But they do have a bear cruising around up there in broad daylight. It was up there all day [Monday], making a lot of people nervous, and it’s up there again [Tuesday].”
Rockel said the bear is big, but added that it was not bothering anyone.
