SOUTHERN SECTION ROUNDUP : Barrett’s 7 Touchdowns Are Plenty Lucky for Burroughs, 63-35
Mike Barrett scored seven touchdowns, including three in the fourth quarter, to help Burroughs High crush Valencia, 63-35, in a nonleague game Friday night at Burroughs.
Barrett rushed for 226 yards in 21 carries, with touchdown runs of 20, 55 and 16 yards in the fourth quarter alone.
Earlier, he scored on three one-yard runs and a 29-yard fumble return.
Barrett’s performance overshadowed Valencia’s Donavan Calhoun, who scored five touchdowns and rushed for 164 yards in 21 carries.
Burroughs (3-4-1) snapped a four-game losing streak. Valencia dropped to 1-7.
Burroughs quarterback J.K. Scott had touchdown throws of 13 yards to Glenn Adriatico and 15 yards to Ben Criscuolo.
Criscuolo made all nine conversion kicks.
