OXNARD : Thieves Who Invaded Home Are Sought
Police were still searching Monday for five men who forced their way into an Oxnard home carrying pistols and knives.
Eloisa Medina, 62, was in her Sarita Drive home Sunday night with her son, Jose Acevedo, 37, and a teen-age friend, Javier Jimenez, when the five men knocked on her door and then rushed into the house, police said.
Acevedo was hit and kicked during the robbery, and Jimenez, 19, was kicked in the head. Injuries to both were minor, police said. The suspects fled with a television, VCR, stereo and cash.
Oxnard averages about six home-invasion robberies every year, police said.
