Ozzy Osbourne has returned with his first studio album in four years, and it’s obvious that headbangers everywhere are glad to see him back. “Ozzmosis,” the heavy metal favorite’s 11th solo record, debuts at No. 7 in The Times’ Southern California album chart and No. 4 in the national chart. Also enjoying a strong week out of the box was Alan Jackson’s “Greatest Hits Collection,” which is No. 9 in the local chart and No. 5 in the national chart. It sits atop both the local and national country charts. But the most impressive debut was made by the Smashing Pumpkins’ two-CD set, “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.”
