Hearings Scheduled on Building Permits

A city zoning official will hold public hearings on a number of proposed city permits and zoning variances Nov. 27 at the Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave. in Sherman Oaks. An associate zoning administrator will consider cases including:

* A proposed conditional-use permit to demolish a 55,000-square-foot, five-story hospital building and construct in its place a 104,000-square-foot, five-story structure on Cantara Street west of Etiwanda Avenue in Reseda. The permit was requested by the Northridge Hospital Medical Center. The hearing will begin at 2:30 p.m.

* A proposed conditional-use permit to build and operate a 39,000-square-foot community center, including a child-care center for 80 children, on Corbin Avenue north of Rinaldi Street in Chatsworth. The North Valley YMCA is also seeking a zoning variance so that it may install 300 square feet of signs, because the current zoning allows only 30 square feet. Other exceptions to the city’s parking and setback requirements are also sought. At 1 p.m.
