NEWBURY PARK : Brush Fire Burns 5 Acres on Hillside
A brush fire in Newbury Park burned through five acres of uninhabited land before it was contained by county firefighters Monday afternoon, fire officials said.
The fire, which was first reported at about noon, burned a hill behind several homes near Lesser Drive and Reino Road. The second-alarm blaze was contained within an hour.
There were no injuries or damage to homes, officials said. They said they are investigating the possibility of arson.
