VENTURA : Council Planning Town Hall Meeting
The Westside Community Council will hold a year-end town hall meeting tonight to discuss a wide range of issues affecting residents in the Ventura Avenue area.
Topics such as reducing crime, attracting businesses, providing more activities for teen-agers and children, helping the homeless without hurting neighborhoods and giving the Avenue area a face-lift are among the issues to be discussed.
“We try to do it two or three times a year,” said Maxine Culp, a Westside resident and member of the council. “We have continued the interest. We have had large amounts of people come to the meetings.”
Members of the year-old council will also elect their 1996 officers Thursday night.
The two-hour meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Avenue Adult Senior Center, 550 N. Ventura Ave. Refreshments and free baby-sitting will be provided.
