Businessman Sentenced in Workers’ Comp Scam: Erroll Dale Frazier, convicted in September of 17 felony counts related to submitting phony compensation claims for injured workers, was sentenced to eight years in prison by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Cowell. Frazier, 53, was accused of running a cluster of Los Angeles firms that billed workers’ compensation insurers for vocational rehabilitation services that either were unnecessary or never performed. Prosecutors say Frazier’s firms operated under various names, including Frazier & Associates and Vocational Opportunities. Prosecutors say he may have bilked insurers out of as much as $500,000. The prosecution, in an unusual legal twist, was handled jointly by deputy district attorneys from Los Angeles and San Diego counties.
