VENTURA : 2 Suspects Held in Hit-and-Run
Two suspects in a Ventura hit-and-run accident Wednesday were caught minutes later by nearby citizens and taken into custody by Ventura police.
Gabriel Ramos and Jesse Gonzalez, both of Oxnard, were booked at Ventura County Jail on suspicion of felony hit and run on Telephone Road at Market Street.
The victim, Larry Dean Marks of Ventura, was treated and released Wednesday for a concussion and chest injury at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura.
A car allegedly driven by Ramos was traveling southbound on Telephone Road and ran a red light at Market Street about 1 p.m., police said.
The car broadsided the vehicle driven by Marks, who was traveling west on Market Street, and it also hit a car going east on Market, police said. The occupants of the second car were not injured, police said.
Ramos and Gonzalez allegedly ran from the collision but were captured by nearby citizens, police said.
