Three games into the season, Arizona is relying on experience.

The 19th-ranked Wildcats worked the shot clock in the final minutes and showed the sophomores and freshmen of No. 16 Michigan a thing or two in an 86-79 victory Wednesday night at New York in the semifinals of the Preseason NIT.

The Wildcats (3-0) will play No. 5 Georgetown for the title Friday night.

“The difference down the stretch was simply that we had a lot more experience,” Arizona Coach Lute Olson said. “They played hard but we felt there were a couple of things we could down and that was use the clock well and get it inside.”

Michael Dickerson’s dunk with 2:30 to play gave the Wildcats a 79-71 lead, but the Wolverines (2-1) took advantage of a turnover and a missed three-pointer to score six points over the next minute to get within two.
