Access HealthNet Inc. of Westlake Village, whose president resigned abruptly last month, has reported a net loss and sharply reduced revenues in its latest quarter.

The company, a provider of communications systems for the health care industry, says it lost $2.1 million, or 34 cents a share, on sales of $63,000 in the three months that ended Sept. 30.

This compared with a profit of $138,000, or 2 cents a share, on revenues of $2.1 million a year earlier.

For the six months that ended Sept. 30, Access reported a net loss of $6.2 million, or $1 a share, on the same revenues--$63,000. A year earlier, the company netted $499,000, or 8 cents a share, on sales of $4.4 million.

Access said its recent losses were because of changes in operations requiring it to assume obligations that were previously the responsibility of distributors. This resulted in a delay in receiving some revenues, the company said.

“We hope that Access HealthNet will return to profitability and be cash-flow-positive during calendar year 1996,” said Steven E. Levy, chairman and chief executive.

Keith M. Berman, the company’s former president, who resigned in October amid reports of unexpected losses. No explanation was given for Berman’s departure.
