Coach: Bob Chavez (third year).

1994-95: 11-13-2, 4-5-1 in the Sea View League; lost to Rancho Cucamonga in the Southern Section Division III quarterfinals.

Key returners: Jose Escustia, defender, second-team all-league, Sr.; Wade Fraser, midfielder, first-team all-league, Jr.; Brian Harpst, defender, Sr.; Ryan Kenyon, midfielder, So.; Patrick O’Brien, defender, first-team all-league, Jr.; Brian Roney, forward, first-team all-league, Jr.; Brent Stringham, midfielder, Sr.; Andy Valderrama, midfielder, Jr.; Jason Viloria, defender, Sr.

Key newcomers: Ronnie Davis, forward, transfer from Mission Viejo, Jr.

Outlook: El Toro lost a lot of games last season because of its inexperience, but it will probably win most of those games this season. The Chargers are still young--they will start five juniors, a sophomore and a freshman--but they are loaded with talent. El Toro reached the Division III quarterfinals last season as an at-large team. Look for the Chargers to battle Santa Margarita and Woodbridge for the Sea View League title and surpass last year’s playoff finish.
