* USC (6-2) vs. No. 18 MISSOURI (7-2) at Rainbow Classic in Honolulu.

Time--7:30 p.m. PST. Radio--KMPC (710). TV--ESPN2.

After being routed at Utah (84-49) last Saturday, USC faces another ranked opponent in No. 18 Missouri. The Trojans were outrebounded, 58-26, by Utah, then ranked 13th, and have had problems against physical teams such as Missouri. The Tigers have four starters from last season, including Simeon Haley, whose 7-foot twin, Sammie, serves as his backup. The Haleys combine for 21 points and 14 rebounds a game. Kelly Thames, who did not play last season because of an injury after being Big Eight freshman of the year in 1993-94, is a 6-foot-8 forward averaging 14.2 points and 5.9 rebounds. Coach Norm Stewart gets solid production from the Tigers’ backcourt in Julian Winfield (8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds) and Jason Sutherland (13.3 points and 5.1 assists). USC Coach Charlie Parker hopes to get more shots for Brandon Martin, who is shooting 55.1% from the field but had only three attempts against Utah. Center Avondre Jones has fouled out of four of seven games. After three consecutive games with double figures in points and rebounds, Jaha Wilson had seven points and four rebounds against Utah. If USC wins, the Trojans will play the winner of No. 1 Massachusetts against North Carolina State. The other teams in the tournament are No. 13 Syracuse, No. 12 Illinois, Rhode Island and Hawaii.
