Seniors : Achievements, activities : COUNTYWIDE : Institute Offers Classes for Visually Impaired

The Braille Institute will offer several free classes beginning in January for senior citizens who are visually impaired.

The classes are designed to teach skills such as shopping, labeling and organizing kitchens and closets, and measuring and cooking food.

Weekly classes will be at the Oasis Senior Center, Corona del Mar, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Jan. 4; San Clemente Senior Center, 10 a.m. to noon Fridays, beginning Jan. 5; and Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, Mission Viejo, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, beginning Jan. 8.
