Spotlight on achievers : LA PALMA : Sasi Batalon Is City Employee of the Year

Sasi Batalon, a senior account clerk, has been honored as City Employee of the Year.

Batalon holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Cal State Long Beach. Before joining the city staff three years ago, she worked for several accounting firms and was also a payroll specialist for Pearl Harbor Naval Station in Hawaii.

In her current position, Batalon is responsible for processing the payroll, preparing utility bills and assisting with accounts payable.

Brigitte Charles, assistant to the city manager, said: “Mrs. Batalon received this well-deserved recognition for her outstanding efforts and contributions to the organization.”

Charles said that a co-worker of Batalon’s praised her for her positive attitude.
