Man Shot and Killed on Santa Ana Street
SANTA ANA — A young man was shot and killed Saturday in a confrontation with two other men on a Santa Ana street, police said.
The young man was approached by the two men just after 5 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Birch Street. During a dispute, he was shot once in the abdomen and died later in surgery at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, police said.
The victim’s name and hometown were not available, pending notification of relatives, police said. Lt. Dave Petko said a document found in the man’s wallet showed his age to be 23.
Petko said the incident might have involved a robbery.
