A man who was demoted and then quit his job at a wholesale auto parts store returned there with a gun Tuesday, killing a manager and injuring two other men before shooting himself in the abdomen, authorities said.

“He went in and shot the boss first, then shot all the other employees,” said Robert Carlson, a mechanic at the nearby Greenburgh Mobil station.

Sookhdeo “Frankie” Itwaru, 51, of Mount Vernon, was hired as a driver by ISW Auto Parts in November 1994, authorities said. He was promoted to warehouse manager last March but was demoted back to driver in August.

He quit in October after he was written up for poor performance, Police Chief John Kapica said.

Police said Itwaru fired round after round from a 12-gauge shotgun in the aisles of the auto parts store, which serves only car dealers. It was open at the time, but Kapica said only employees were inside.

Itwaru killed the sales manager, Paul Bodisch, 32, of White Plains, who had told Itwaru of his demotion, Dist. Atty. Jeanine Pirro said.

Bill Weaver, 40, of Port Chester, who replaced Itwaru as warehouse manager, and Jean-Marie Mathieu, 39, of New Rochelle, another driver, were wounded, she said.

Itwaru then shot himself in the abdomen, Kapica said. He was in critical condition at Westchester County Medical Center, where the other men were in serious condition. “Should he survive, he will be charged,” Pirro said.
