Yale Grades Up in Air as Grad Aides Protest
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Some Yale University graduate teaching assistants failed to turn in undergraduates’ grades that were due Tuesday in a protest over the school’s refusal to recognize the assistants’ union.
Yale officials said Tuesday it would be several days before they know how many aides had withheld grades. The assistants, members of the Graduate Employees and Students Organization, warned last month that they would withhold grades until the administration agrees to discuss their demands. No talks are scheduled.
The group is made up of graduate students in the humanities and social sciences.
