In Garden Grove League boys’ soccer:

Santiago 2, Pacifica 1--Raul Bautista scored in the 70th minute to break a 1-1 tie for Santiago (17-1-1, 8-0-1). The Cavaliers had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Erik Bautista. Trevor Stivers then tied it for Pacifica (6-2-1 in league).

In Garden Grove League girls’ soccer:

Pacifica 11, Santiago 0--Terri Emmons scored five goals and Alanna Brown had two for Pacifica (14-4, 10-0), which has scored 95 goals in 10 league games.

In Garden Grove League boys’ basketball:

La Quinta 66, Garden Grove 40--Todd Butt scored 20 points as visiting La Quinta (9-12, 4-5) pulled the upset of the league season against first-place Garden Grove (13-11, 8-2). Scott Ogilvie scored 18 and Fang Li 17 for La Quinta.

La Quinta took advantage of Garden Grove, which was flat early, to open a 29-17 halftime lead.

Pacifica 51, Santiago 45--Pacifica trailed by 10 after the first quarter and eight at the half, but outscored visiting Santiago, 31-17, in the second half.

Brad Mastros had 13 points and nine rebounds and Gary Wallace had 11 points for the Mariners (10-15, 6-4). Tony Dixon had a game-high 23 points for Santiago (10-11, 3-6).

Rancho Alamitos 53, Los Amigos 51--John Frank’s layup at the buzzer won it for Rancho Alamitos. Tyrone Thomas led the Vaqueros (9-15, 6-4) with 13 points and Frank had 10.

In Garden Grove League girls’ basketball:

Garden Grove 38, La Quinta 35--After La Quinta’s Tina Shum made one of two free throws with 25 seconds left to cut the Argonauts’ lead to one, Sara Monsoor made one of two for Garden Grove. The Aztecs then missed two from the line and Kristie Haro sealed the victory by making a free throw with two seconds left.

Monsoor led Garden Grove (11-8, 6-4) with 16 points, Kathy Moore had eight points and 11 rebounds and Gina Huizar had eight points and 10 rebounds. Shum had 16 points for La Quinta (3-16, 1-9).

Rancho Alamitos 60, Los Amigos 41--Rancho Alamitos trailed by one, but outscored Los Amigos, 39-19, in the second half. Araceli Hernandez scored 12 points for the Vaqueros (8-14, 6-4), who are tied for second with Garden Grove. Tofi Togogae had 16 points for Los Amigos (4-13, 2-7).

Pacifica 72, Santiago 55--Jaymee Pendergast scored 21 points and Heather Green had 18 points and nine rebounds for host Pacifica (16-5, 10-0).
