Director Martin Scorsese (“Casino,” “Raging Bull,” “GoodFellas”) has left Universal Pictures and entered into a four-year production deal with the Walt Disney Studios, where he will direct three of his next four movies. Scorsese and his longtime collaborator, producer Barbara DeFina, will also produce lower-budget movies for Disney. . . . Cable’s Lifetime Television has acquired rights to CBS’ “Chicago Hope” and will begin airing the hospital drama in September 1998. . . . “WASP and Other Plays,” a collection of one-act plays by actor-comedian Steve Martin, will be performed in Aspen Feb. 28 as the opening event of the second annual 1996 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. Martin will receive the American Film Institute’s Star Award at the Aspen festival on March 2.
