Prep football: Kevin Badii, a 6-4, 190-pound wide receiver from El Dorado (Hawaii); Chris Boden, a 6-1, 195-pound quarterback from San Clemente (Villanova); Kevin Braga, a 5-10, 175-pound defensive back from Mater Dei (Montana); Kevin Cooper, a 6-6, 245-pound tight end from Brethren Christian (Washington); Kostas Hatzidakis, a 6-3, 255-pound offensive lineman for Esperanza (Navy); Ricky Jenkins, a 6-2, 170-pound wide receiver/defensive back for Woodbridge (Reno);
Richard Nichols, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound center and linebacker for Corona del Mar (Southern Methodist); Dan Noll, a 6-4, 260-pound offensive lineman from El Toro (Montana State); Josh Parry, a 6-2, 210-pound linebacker from Sonora (San Jose State); Tom Ringl, a 6-5, 215-pound tight end from Sonora (San Jose State); Mitch Ryerson, a 6-3, 185-pound quarterback from Fountain Valley (Iowa State); Brian Wilkins, a 6-1, 195-pound receiver from Esperanza (Arizona State); Ryan Wilkins, a 6-0, 175-pound wide receiver from Esperanza (St. Mary’s).
Community college football: Jason Braun, a 6-2, 270-pound defensive lineman from Saddleback (Northern Colorado); David Cruickshank, a 6-4, 255-pound defensive lineman from Saddleback (Wisconsin); Bubba Gonzalez, a 6-2, 285-pound lineman from Saddleback (Nevada Las Vegas); Brett Hall, a 6-0, 170-pound quarterback from Saddleback (oral commitment to Shepherd College in West Virginia); Michael Long, a redshirt at Orange Coast College this season (Washington State); Scott Patton, a 6-1, 200-pound strong safety from Saddleback (UNLV); Levi Roquemore, a 6-0, 225-pound linebacker from Saddleback (UNLV); Tim Sulick, a 6-2, 225-pound linebacker from Saddleback (San Diego State).
Prep girls’ soccer: Jennifer Brick, a midfielder for Trabuco Hills (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo). Jill Nelson, a midfielder from Newport Harbor (Nebraska).
Prep girls’ volleyball: Lauren Netherby, an outside hitter for San Clemente (Nevada); Nicole Noya, a middle blocker for Mater Dei (Rhode Island); Amber Oliver, an outside hitter from Cerritos Valley Christian who resides in Buena Park (USC); Suzanne Shaw, an outside hitter for Capistrano Valley (Hofstra).
Laurie Layton, a setter for the Mater Dei girls’ volleyball team and a first-team All-South Coast League selection, is considering at least three colleges, former Mater Dei Coach Pete West said.
Football players Turnbull Mulipola of Rancho Alamitos and Dan Cornelius of Savanna, have not committed, contrary to information supplied by their respective schools.
