Student Shift Not Needed, Study by Parents Says
Changing School Boundaries
A Ventura Unified School District plan to redraw school attendance boundaries in three sections of the city drew fire from the community at a hearing Tuesday night. As it was proposed two weeks ago, the plan calls for reassigning high school students living in areas 1,2 and 3 from Buena High to Ventura High. Middle school students living in area 2 would go to Cabrillo Middle instead of Balboa Middle. About 460 students will be affected by the changes, scheduled to take effect this September.
Affected Schools: A. Cabrillo Middle School, B. Ventura High School, C. Buena High School, D. Balboa Middle School.
