Gary Michael Gorman; Former Times Staffer

Gary Michael Gorman, 44, a former editor and reporter with the Los Angeles Times. A native of Ohio, Gorman graduated from Ohio State University in 1973 with a degree in journalism. His newspaper career included working at the Toledo Blade, Tampa Tribune, St. Petersburg Times and Orlando Sentinel, where he was city editor for five years. He came to The Times in 1985, serving in a variety of capacities as an editor and reporter, notably in the South Bay section and Ventura edition. He left the paper in 1994 to return to Ohio to be close to his family. On Tuesday in Columbus of AIDS-related complications.
