Orange County High School of the Arts is accepting applications for the 1996-97 school year.
Those interested in the school’s dance, music, theater and art departments must write essays to submit with their applications and have auditions before a panel of instructors.
School officials say they recommend early application because of heavy competition. In the most competitive department, theater, only one of every four prospective students is selected, spokesperson Therese Long said.
The School of the Arts is on the campus of Los Alamitos High School.
