Brentwood pulled the biggest upset of the second round in the Southern Section Division V-AA playoffs, defeating second-seeded Chadwick, 43-30. Don Postaer scored 10 points in the final quarter as Brentwood pulled away. Chadwick, the No. 1 team from the Prep League, finished the season 21-7. . . . St. Bernard also pulled off an upset, defeating Oak Park, the Div. IV-AA’s third-seeded team, 65-42, behind Daniel Coleman’s 21 points and 10 rebounds. The Vikings’ run to the semifinals is even more impressive considering they had to win a wild-card game to get into the main draw. . . . Beverly Hills’ boys’ soccer team ended its season with a 2-1 second-round loss to San Marcos in the Division II playoffs. Ryan Franks scored for the Normans, who advanced to the second round with a 4-0 victory over St. Bernard last Friday. In that game, Beverly Hills played without starting goaltender Aaron Schiller, who was injured, but still won, 4-0, behind three goals by Flynn Turner.
